Course Information

The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF) is an accredited, regulated and quality assured qualification that is recognised throughout the UK. This intensive 1-day course has been designed to benefit Learners by developing their understanding of: the main causes of work-related fatalities, injuries and ill health; the moral, legal and economic reasons for preventing accidents and ill health at work; key terms associated with risk assessment; the role of risk assessment in accident and ill health prevention; the legal requirements for risk assessment; a simple process for undertaking a risk assessment; occupational, environmental and human factors that can affect the level of risk from hazards at work; how to prioritise risks; and the requirements for providing information about, and records on, the results of a risk assessment.

This qualification is for anyone in a work environment. While employees might not undertake risk assessments themselves they may be asked to contribute to the process and will be expected to behave in a way that protects both the health and safety of themselves and others at all times. This qualification will make them more risk-aware and improve their understanding of risk assessments.

Course Duration

The Principles of Risk Assessment course that we deliver has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) requirement of 7 hours. The maximum period to achieve this qualification (including any referrals) is 4 weeks.

Assessment & Certification

Course assessment includes:

  • 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper).

Upon successful completion of this course individuals will receive a QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF) printed certificate as well as a credit-card style license. This qualification is refreshed every 3 years from date of certification.

Entry Requirements

A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course. Please note that students must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that students have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.

Location

We are able to deliver our Principles of Risk Assessment course on your premises (subject to a pre-course assessment) to reduce the costs associated with taking time out and travelling. Alternatively, you can book onto our next available course at our Snetterton Training Facility.
