Course Information

The QA Level 3 Award in Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing (RQF) is an accredited, regulated and quality assured qualification that is recognised throughout the UK. This comprehensive 3-day course has been designed to educate individuals in supervising food safety in a manufacturing environment. It includes the importance of safety management procedures and the requirements for monitoring, recording and evaluating these procedures, food safety and the law and good food hygiene practice.

This qualification is for people who work, or are preparing to work, in a supervisory role in a food manufacturing environment.

Course Duration

The Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing course that we deliver has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) requirement of 26 hours. The maximum period to achieve this qualification (including any referrals) is 10 weeks.

Assessment & Certification

Course assessment includes:

  • 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper).

Upon successful completion of this course individuals will receive a QA Level 3 Award in Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing (RQF) printed certificate as well as a credit-card style license. This qualification is refreshed every 3 years from date of certification. This qualification may be used towards other qualifications at the same and higher level, plus aid career progression in a relevant profession.

Entry Requirements

A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course. Please note that students must be at least 16 years old on the first day of training.

It is recommended that Learners already hold the Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing (QCF or RQF).

There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.


We are able to deliver our Food Safety Supervision for Manufacturing course on your premises (subject to a pre-course assessment) to reduce the costs associated with taking time out and travelling. Alternatively, you can book onto our next available course at our Snetterton Training Facility.
